Save the ta-tas: Come Walk With Me cancer benefit this Saturday

Participation in "Come Walk With Me," MultiCare's fundraiser for breast cancer research, has reached a milestone in preregistered walkers this year, at 500. Past years have topped out at 300 in participating walkers alone.

If you’re planning to walk against cancer in Sumner Saturday, expect to be joined by more than 500 other people.

Participation in “Come Walk With Me,” MultiCare’s fundraiser for breast cancer research, has reached a milestone in preregistered walkers this year. Past years have topped out at 300 in participating walkers alone.

The main walk — in which walkers deck themselves out in pink shirts, hats, boas, umbrellas and other clothing and accessories — begins at 9:30 a.m. Pre-registration remains open through Friday at 5 p.m. Walkers can pre-register online or at The Old Cannery Warehouse. Day-of registration opens at 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

Aside from the main walk  other activities include a motorcycle ride, the Woodcreek Pediatrics Kids 50-yard dash, a Bedazzled Bra Contest, Silent Auction and Drawing, a breakfast show put on by Diagnostic Imaging Northwest, the PINK’d Award, a Vendor Village, a 30-foot by 40-foot pond for catch-and-release fishing, and a Drink Pink after party at Captain Jack’s.
