council seat
Veteran Bonney Lake Councilman Dan Swatman announced last week his bid to seek election as the Ward 1 councilman.
Currently, Swatman is serving as deputy mayor.
Swatman said he has helped the city control growth, limit taxes and fees, and provide for essential services while protecting the community’s livable identity character.
“I have chosen to live in Bonney Lake because of the natural beauty and community character of the city,” he said. “I will work to ensure Bonney Lake remains a highly desired and respected city for all its citizens.”
Swatman has been chosen to serve as deputy mayor by his peers several times.
While on the council, Swatman has served on several committees and also helped the city get several million dollars in grant funding for sidewalks and Fennel Creek trail improvements.
Swatman is a member of the Lake Tapps Task Force and is treasurer of the local Little League association.
Swatman said he will continues to advocate for increased open space, controlled growth, attracting high quality restaurants, increasing local recreation opportunities and reducing taxes and fees on residents.
