Led by Alec Williams’ 140-pound title and Gino Russell’s runner-up finish at 171 pounds, the White River High wrestling team came away with a third-place finish behind Ellensburg and Davis of Yakima Saturday at the 15-team Eastmont Cats Classic in Wenatchee, Wash.
Bonney Lake High wrestling coach Anthony Clarke took a dozen grapplers to the prestigious Pacific Coast Championships in Vancouver, Wash., Friday and Saturday and his Panthers placed 12th in the team standings with 80 points.
The Sumner High boys won one basketball game and lost one during the holiday break and the team is set to get back into the South Puget Sound League 3A basketball action this week.
