No public comments on school budget

The Sumner School Board of Directors held a public hearing regarding the 2009-2010 budget.

Executive Director of Business Services Debbie Campbell presented the draft and then the floor was available to the public for comments.

The budget will be finalized at the July school board meeting.

Superintendent Gil Mendoza said the budget was reached after a series of difficult choices.

“I want to be clear that it wasn’t without a lot of pain,” he said.

The budget is scheduled to be finalized at the board’s July 15 meeting.

In other business the board approved a change order to the construction of elementary school No. 9 and accepted a bid for the re-roofing of Liberty Ridge and Crestwood Elementary School.
