Paving to disrupt school traffic

Enumclaw School District officials are asking Kibler Elementary School parents for their cooperation when school opens Thursday.
A paving project was originally planned to be done before Sept. 1, but a delay in the permitting process pushed the project start date back. Construction is expected to begin soon and continue through September.
"The challenge at Kibler is we have limited space," said Tim Madden, district business manager. The changes will impact staff parking, the parents' drop-off and pick-up area and the bus loading zone.
"What we'd like to say to parents is please help us. Be patient. There will be some inconvenience for a time," Madden said.
Parents who drive their students to school or pick them up after school are asked to approach Kibler Avenue from the east and unload and load in the curb area between Division Street and the cross walk in front of the school building.
The former bus loading zone and parking lot on the east side of Kibler will be closed.
"Hopefully this will take about a month," Madden said.
When complete, buses will pull along the east side of the school building, as before, but the area will be one way and separate from the parking area. The parking lot will be next to the bus area, but will only have access from Division Street. Kibler Avenue will then be available completely for parent drop off and pick up access.
