That bridge was first built in 1897, then lost in a 1908 flood. Two houses are visible between the flooded road and the railroad trestle. Boise Creek can be faintly seen between the two bridges, where it drops 70 feet from the Enumclaw Plateau to the White River channel.

It was taken by W. S. Walbridge of Slaughter; his lower right inscription reads, “White River Bridge and Bridge Crew, Cascade Division.
